These Terms govern your use of Lock In MCAT and the Educational Operating System (EOS) platform (the "Platform"), operated by Lock In MCAT ("we", "us", "our"). By using the Platform, you agree to these Terms.
1. Acceptance & eligibility
You must be 18 or older to create and hold an account and agree to these Terms. A minor who is at least 13 may use the Platform only if a parent or legal guardian creates and holds the account, agrees to these Terms on the minor's behalf, and supervises their use. The Platform is not intended for children under 13.
2. Definitions
"Service"/"Platform" means LockInMed, Lock In MCAT, and the Educational Operating System (EOS). "Account" means your registered user account. "Subscription" means a paid plan (Pro, Elite, Founder, or access-code-granted Elite). "AI Features" means Schedule AI, Study Coach AI, Professor AI, the Reasoning Coach, and related AI tools.
3. The service / license
Limited, non-exclusive, non-transferable, revocable license for personal, non-commercial educational use. The Platform is an educational study tool; it does not provide medical, clinical, legal, or financial advice.
4. Accounts & responsibilities
You are responsible for your credentials and account activity; keep information accurate; report unauthorized use.
5. Subscriptions, billing, free trial, auto-renewal, cancellation & refunds
Paid subscriptions (Pro/Elite/Founder) billed via Stripe. New accounts may receive a free trial period of access that does not require payment details. If a free trial requires payment details, we clearly disclose price, billing date, and renewal terms before charging. Cancel anytime before the next billing date; cancellation takes effect at period end. Refunds: same-day charge refunds honored on request. Free-trial conversions refundable within 14 days if the Platform was not used after the charge. Request refunds at support@lockinmed.com.
6. Acceptable use
Do not misuse or disrupt the Platform; reverse engineer or scrape except as allowed by law; infringe rights; upload unlawful content; share your account; or use it to give medical/professional advice to others.
7. User content & feedback
You retain ownership of your content and grant us a limited license to host/process it to operate the Platform. Third-party content you capture (e.g., practice questions) is stored privately to your account for your own educational use only; it is never made public, shared with other users, sold, or used to train models or build datasets.
8. Intellectual property
The Platform and our content are owned by us or our licensors. "MCAT®" is a registered trademark of the Association of American Medical Colleges (AAMC); we are not affiliated with, endorsed by, or sponsored by the AAMC.
9. AI features — educational tool only
AI features (Schedule AI, Study Coach AI, Professor AI, the Reasoning Coach, and related AI tools) provide educational support only, may be inaccurate or incomplete, and do not constitute medical advice, diagnosis, treatment, or a doctor–patient relationship. Verify important information independently.
10. Research participation
The Platform may support IRB-approved educational research. Participation is voluntary and governed by a separate informed consent reviewed by an IRB. Using the Platform does not enroll you in research. Research questions: support@lockinmed.com.
11. Disclaimers of warranty
Provided "as is" and "as available" without warranties to the fullest extent permitted by law, including that AI output or recommendations are accurate.
12. Limitation of liability
To the fullest extent permitted by law, we are not liable for indirect, incidental, special, consequential, or punitive damages, or lost data/profits/academic outcomes. Our total liability for any claim is limited to the greater of (a) amounts you paid us in the 12 months before the event, or (b) US$100.
13. Indemnification
You agree to indemnify us for claims arising out of your misuse of the Platform, your violation of these Terms, or your violation of any law or third-party right.
14. Termination
We may suspend or terminate access for violations or as required by law; you may stop using the Platform anytime.
15. Dispute resolution / arbitration & governing law
These Terms are governed by the laws of the State of Florida, without regard to conflict-of-laws rules. Disputes will be resolved in the state or federal courts located in Florida, and you consent to their jurisdiction.
16. Changes to the terms
We may update these Terms and will post the new effective date; material changes get additional notice.
